“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign Lord, “when I will send a famine through the land—not a famine of food or a thirst for water but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord.” – Amos 8:11
Spiritual Food
The pandemic revealed the fragility of the world’s supply chain, including the food supply, which has caused some people to stock up on emergency or survival foods. When looking to sustain your life, it is vital to remember who the Source of provision truly is. As concerns of physical famine certainly exist in many parts of the world, a rising concern in the U.S. has been the spread of spiritual famine. People have begun to spiritually starve as they feed on the emptiness of humanism, socialism, materialism, health-and-wealth-ism, and any number of other isms. Jesus said that the Father knows your needs and to seek His kingdom first so that He may supply (Matthew 6:32-33). As you pray over the humanitarian needs of the nation and the world today, ask the Lord to draw the hearts of U.S. citizens and those in government to Him so that they discover the nourishment provided by God’s Word (Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 4:4; Luke 4:4; John 6:31).
